THE King Alfred School has thanked readers for donating prom dresses and suits after appealing in the Weekly News.

A total of eleven outfits have been kindly donated for pupils to use for the school’s prom.

Head teacher Andy Owen said: “Items have come from both the local community as well as from London prom dress company Dynasty UK, who saw the article and donated three samples from their collection!

“As promised, the school will be making a donation of £10 per item to the Year 11 chosen charity which is Cancer Research and they would like to thank everyone who has given so generously; dresses and suits are available for any student to borrow for the big night.”
