HISTORY buffs in Burnham have welcomed the introduction of a new microfilm reader.

Burnham Library will be reinstating a microfilm reader thanks to the efforts of The North Sedgemoor Local History Group and staff at the library.

The reader will be available from May 15, 2014 onwards.

All are welcome to a coffee morning from 10am to 12pm on May 15 at the library in Princess St, Burnham, where guests can look at local newspapers from the 1800’s to the present day using the Microfilm reader and browse a collection of local history books.

A spokesman for the library said: “We at the library would like to thank John Strickland and his colleagues for all the work they have put in to have this useful service back in Burnham Library.”
