CHILDREN at Mark First School performed daring balancing acts as they took part in ‘balanceability’ lessons.

Trainers from 1610 King Alfred’s Sports Centre visited the school where they took children from reception and years one and two on a special outdoor training session to improve their balance.

Specially designed bikes without pedals or stabilisers were brought to the school to help the children learn how to keep their balance as they cycled.

The class was all part of health week at the school where the children learned about healthy eating and having an active lifestyle.

Toni McKinlay, centre manager at 1610 King Alfred’s Sports Centre, said: “The kids really enjoyed it.

“It was really hectic with all the activities going on. The kids were really excited by the special bicycles.”
