FOSTERING young whipper-“snappers” and celebrating the work of practised photographers was just what Burnham’s Camera Club achieved at its annual exhibition on Sunday.

The club’s 50 members presented their successful seventh show, with subjects spanning wildlife, action and landscapes, to macro – close-up – photography. Seventy visitors passed through the Bay Centre’s doors to take a look. Work by fresh-faced members of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School photographers was included, with youngster Harriet Hobbs elected to untie the ribbon and declare the event open.

By its close it was Maurice Hunt who was crowned ‘Best in Show’ winner by the public for his high-impact, glossy collection.

Burnham Camera Club meets every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm at the BAY centre in Cassis Close, Burnham.

The group host regular competitions, trips, and guest speakers. For more information, drop in or call the committee chairman Mike Barnard on 01278-238714.
