A WOMEN-ONLY cycling group has been set up to encourage more to get in the saddle.

Sedgemoor Breeze, run by Alison Casey, is part of the Breeze network set up by British Cycling to tempt more women to take it up.

Alison, 44, said: “All the rides are different and vary in distance, the emphasis is on social and there is always coffee and a cake stop. We always go at the pace of the slowest rider.

“I have chosen rural routes mainly through the villages of the Polden Hills due to the lovely quiet lanes affording great views of the surrounding countryside, which is ideal for cycling.”
