Newt Festival is just weeks away
MUSIC lovers will be out in their thousands again for the highly anticipated Newt Festival - which is just weeks away.
The festival, held annually at North Newton, between Bridgwater and Taunton, has now reached its 23rd year and sees a vast number of festival-goers making the journey from across the South West and other parts of the UK.
Among the bands playing on the opening day (July 11) of the festival will be The Shamones, The Glam Busters, and The Skimmity Hitchers.
The Bad Shepherds will be rocking the stage as the headline act on Saturday (July 12), supported by 4th Street Traffic, Eat the Rich, Jazzy Jeff and Howlin' Circus.
Also appearing on Saturday afternoon are Kolo, In Brackets, Slapface and the Haogies as well as Kernow Vibration.
The Newt Fest is famous for a wide selection of real ales as well as the variety of music on offer.
This year will see over 100 real ales from breweries all over the country alongside numerous Somerset ciders, bottled lagers, and other beverages. Popular favourites include Summer Lightning, Exmore Gold and Yellow Hammer.
There will be the dreaded - or much-loved for some - Yard of Ale contest on the Saturday afternoon at 3.00pm in the main marquee.
A wide selection of food will be available throughout the festival, including breakfasts for the outdoor lovers who decide to camp.
Camping tickets cost £10 per person.
Weekend tickets will cost £40per person, with optional one day tickets available at £20 on the Friday and £25 on the Saturday.
Tickets are available from the website - newtfest.com - on the gate or from various outlets.
