THREE decades of dedication to her pupils landed one former Burnham school worker an MBE and a date with royalty at Buckingham Palace.
Elizabeth Hughes, from Thorne Park, was one of the 984 names on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
Bright sunshine and even brighter costumes ensured that Burnham broke out into a Smile on Sunday (June 14, 2009).
Burnham’s annual Smile walk saw around 40 selfless fundraisers don eye-catching costumes to collect cash with a long walk from Burnham’s seafront.
