BURNHAM Rotary Club has its first female president.
Having served as vice-president and president elect, Rotarian Jane Gibbs now takes the chair as president for the coming twelve months.
She has been an active member for almost ten years.
Receiving her presidential chain of office, Jane said: “I’m looking forward to a great year. We have a good number of events planned and will have lots of fun.”
Jane takes over from president Bernard Raines who in his retiring speech said that the Club had had a wonderful year with many successful events to benefit local and national charities.
He announced the Charity Bookshop at 62 High Street, opposite Greenslade Taylor Hunt, has taken almost £1,000 so far.
