A FUNDRAISER held at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club has raised around £10,000 for a children's charity.

Club Captain Neil Darby held a charity golf day in aid of local children's charity Help The Child this month.

Over 150 golfers took part, enjoying the challenge as well as the refreshments at the halfway house which were prepared by Help The Child volunteers and sponsored by the club caterers.

Neil said: “The event is expected to raise in excess of £10,000 for Help The Child, a charity which supports local children with the provision of specialist equipment such as adapted trikes, seating/standing frames and communication aids -these are often not funded by the NHS or Social Services.”

Help The Child chairman Stephanie Sampson said: “We would like to thank Club Captain Neil Darby, Howards Motor Group and the many other local businesses and individuals who contributed to the success of the day. If you would like to find out more about Help The Child, email info@helpthechild.org.”
