HOMES in Sedgemoor are the first organisation to achieve Gold level in the new Somerset Healthy Workplace Award.
The award is run by Somerset County Council Public Health team to encourage and help employers provide healthy workplaces and support their employees.
Homes in Sedgemoor is an Arms Length Management Organisation that looks after Sedgemoor District Council’s housing stock. Its team achieved the Gold standard by completing the three categories; Healthy Workplace Leadership and Management, Health Awareness and Improvement and Corporate Responsibility.
It means they have demonstrated strong health and safety procedures, a commitment to helping customers and staff improve their health and wellbeing, and are reducing their carbon footprint.
Dawn Lang, Chief Executive, Homes in Sedgemoor said: “I am very proud we are the very first organisation in Somerset to achieve the Gold award. We have organised everything from cycling to World Cup Final challenges – engaging people in a fun way.”
