A MUM of two from Highbridge who has saved thousands of pounds by using coupons is now helping other families on a budget.

Kerenza Richards, of Church Street, began collecting coupons last summer after watching a TV programme about it and has set up a Facebook page – Coupon Mama UK – which has attracted almost 2,000 likes in a few weeks.

She told the Weekly News: “I started using coupons last year and I’ve found a bunch of useful websites and apps and offers. My family and friends asked how I found them so I put them all on my Facebook page.

“I used to spend £100 for my weekly shop but now I spend about £10. My last shop I did in Highbridge Asda came to £130 and I paid minus 22p.

“They had to give me 22p back because of how I used the coupons.”

Kerenza, 24, will be getting her own website and is looking at getting an app developed.
She has even been approached by a television network asking if she would be interested in doing her own series.

“I didn’t want a film crew following me around so I declined,” said Kerenza.

“But I have companies contacting me all the time asking me if I can let people know about their offers.”

Kerenza will be appearing in CHAT magazine on August 7 to talk about her new venture.

She added: “It's hard and very expensive bringing up children but it doesn't have to be. I have a huge stockpile of products that I have basically got for free.

“I once managed to get 50 packets of cheese for free, so I handed them out at school.

“It’s amazing what you can get; from groceries to kids’ toys and clothing.

“Many people are not aware of offers like supermarket price guarantees and could be saving so much money.”
