BURNHAM residents woke up to a colourful trail of woollen art all over Marine Cove gardens on Saturday after ‘yarn bombers’ struck overnight.
Walls, seats, decking and even the cherub statue in the seafront park were decorated with brightly coloured knitted items, including cakes laid out on a knitted rug and strings of flowers.
The ‘yarn bombers’ first showed off their handiwork in the town last year and have made a cheery comeback with more knitted treats to bring a smile to people’s faces.
The knitting trend of ‘yarn bombing’ which has taken hold in other parts of the country is usually done in secret overnight as a quirky gift to towns.
