A COMMUNITY care group in Burnham who were expecting a visit from South-West MP Tessa Munt met another special guest on the day – Deputy Prime Minister and LibDem leader Nik Clegg.

Mr Clegg arrived in Atyeo Close, Burnham, much to the surprise of staff at Neighbourhood Care, a domiciliary care agency, to talk to the community and learn more about the care they give people in their own homes.

Barbara Kaczorowska, owner and manager of Neighbourhood Care, said: “It was brilliant to have Tessa and Nick with us.

“Tessa volunteered to do summer work experience with us for the day and we didn’t know Nick was coming, so that was a big surprise.

“Noel and Linda, a couple we care for, are both 90 and have been together 70 years, and they had a lovely chat with Nick and Tessa.

“They were very pleased and couldn’t stop talking about them.”

There was also a chance for nearby students to pop over to Atyeo Close to meet Nick and Tessa and, of course, get a quick selfie picture.
