A NEW club for children and young people with special needs has been launched in Burnham.

Somerset Time For Youth offers children aged eight to 18 and their parents/carers a chance to meet once a fortnight to enjoy each other’s company in a supported environment.

The group has recently been awarded £350 from Co-op Funeralcare which has been put towards basketball hoops and a sensory parachute.

There are currently 17 families who have joined up but more are invited to go along and join in the fun. There are many activities to enjoy, along with a tuck shop for breaks.

Somerset Time for Youth meets every two weeks on Saturday between 10.30am until 1pm at The Scout Hut, BASC Ground, Stoddens Road.

Each group meeting costs £3 per child or £5 per family and a parent/carer is required to stay with the child or young person for the session.
