MORE than £1,500 was raised at Burnham Hospital’s summer fete despite wet weather, forcing the event indoors and splitting up into two separate halls.
It was scheduled to take place in Manor Gardens but rain meant two alternative sites had to be found – St Andrew’s Church Hall and the Methodist Church Hall.
The line-up of stalls, therefore, remained unaffected, with games and refreshments for all the family to enjoy.
The event organised, by the Hospital Friends group vice-chairman Bernard Spilsbury, raised around £1,500. This was less than the proceeds of past events when the weather had been kinder, but was still considerable, members said.
