A TEA party was held to welcome Cindy Thomas as the new editor of the village newsletter, the Norton News.
According to local legend, Norton was once plagued by a dragon generated from blood which spilled in a battle on an ancient hillfort, and the Norton News, like the village hall and school, has adopted a dragon emblem.
At Saturday’s party, the Mayor and Mayoress of Taunton Deane, Dave and Renee Durdan, brought with them Proud Heritage, one of the dragons from the Taunton Deane Dragon Trail which closed on Sunday.
The Mayor and Mayoress were also presented with a hand-embroidered framed dragon by Joyce Parsons, who created the village hall’s dragon banner.
