THE closing date is looming for applications to become Burnham’s new town centre manager.
The town council is looking for a local person to take on the part-time role which will promote the town, and recommend a sustainable action plan to help improve the town centre.
The successful candidate will need to deliver a variety of projects and services including the programme of improvements identified by the Town Projects Committee with local stakeholders and agreed by the Town Council and District Council.
The closing date was extended until September 19 after a “disappointing number” of people had applied for the position.
Burnham Mayor Martin Cox said he was confident in finding the right person for the job and added that since extending the deadline more promising candidates had come forward.
The role is for a fixed two-year term with a salary of £15,000 a year.
