FOUR charities in Burnham have been shortlisted for a community fund which could see them receive thousands of pounds in grants.

Heads Up, The Burnham-on-Sea Food and Drink Festival, Burnham’s swimming club and St Andrew’s Parish Church are the four local community groups to be in with a chance of getting some cash from the community fund run by Lloyds Bank.

Members of the public are now able to vote for their favourite group online, on twitter, via text message or by popping into their local Lloyds branch.

In each community the good cause that receives the most votes will receive a £3,000 award, with the second placed group receiving an award of £2,000, those in third and fourth place receiving £1,000 and £500 respectively.

The four Burnham-based causes were shortlisted from almost 4,500 applications.

To vote for your favourite community cause go to www.lloydsbank.com/communityfund and voting is open from now until October 10.
