IT was a case of straw or nothing in East Huntspill during the annual competition to make the best scarecrow.
The competition, now in its third year, invited villagers to come up with the most wacky and wonderful designs.
Other people in the village were invited to pick up voting forms to carry out a straw poll to choose the top three winners.
First place went to Fantastic Mr Fox created by the Wall family.
Runner-up was Simon Puddy with his scarecrow Spud.
In joint third place were Shirley Davey with the Fat Controller and Emily Kick with Pothead and Grandad.
The winning scarecrows were displayed at Saturday’s Harvest Home celebration in the village.
