A BURNHAM resident has found an old copy of the Burnham & Highbridge Weekly News’ forerunner, almost a century since it was first printed.
Joan Tracy, 91, from Burnham, owns this edition of the Burnham-on-Sea Gazette published on April 21, 1917.
Joan said: “My mother used to save all the papers and when she passed away I found this one which is nearly 100 years old.
“It’s very interesting to look at it, especially the old adverts and the stories in the back pages. “Newspapers most certainly aren’t like this any more.”
