NEARLY a fifth (19%) of petrol stations in the South-West have closed since 2008, new figures reveal.
The Petrol Retailers Association says 134 sites in the region shut between 2008 and 2013.
The PRA estimates around 870 jobs have been lost as a result.
It blames the amount of regulation the industry faces – such as the demand for plain packaging on cigarettes.
