THE dazzling lights, pumping sounds and electric atmosphere of Burnham and Highbridge Carnival is now just around the corner.

Keep the date free – Monday, November 3 – and make sure you arrive early to bag yourselves a prime viewing spot.

The route starts in Love Lane and stretches along to the Esso filling station, down Manor Road before turning left into Victoria Street and then surging down the High Street and along Marine Drive to the dispersal point.

Around 30,000 spectators are expected to turn out and fill the streets to watch the procession of the glowing parade, led by the Carnival Queen, in keeping with the glorious tradition of Burnham and Highbridge Carnival.

Organisers advise you to get into Burnham early as many roads in the town close at 6.30pm ahead of the start an hour later.

Best places for parking are the Oxford Street car park and the many side streets which also have spaces.

More than 100 huge carnival carts will pass before your eyes, each one pulsating with music and lit up with seemingly infinite numbers of coloured light bulbs, plus magical costumes and special effects to create a memorable evening of visual and aural entertainment.
