AN AUTUMN fair in Burnham last week raised more than £500 for St Margaret’s Hospice.
Despite heavy rain, crowds of bargain hunters came through the doors of St Andrew’s church hall to snap up treats and Christmas presents from the various stalls. Over £580 was raised.
Julie Draper, community fundraiser for St Margaret’s, said: “We would like to thank Morrison’s, Burnham, for their very kind donation and Cricketer Farm in Nether Stowey for the donation of cheese.
“I would like to say a huge thanks also to the team of dedicated volunteers for their help and support and to everyone who ventured out and supported the event in such terrible weather.”
The money raised will pay for five home visits by a community nurse.
