A FESTIVE charity bake off in Burnham has been hailed as a big success by organisers.
The baking competition, in aid of Somewhere House Somerset, received entries from members of staff and the local community and clients of Somewhere House, which were then sold at a carol concert at St Andrew’s Church the following evening, raising over £470.
Lorna Kerrins, of Somewhere House Somerset, won the technical bake with her mince pies with Christian McCabe winning the signature bake category.
Lorna said: “It was a lovely day and we raised an amazing amount.
“The bake off and the carol concert were a big success with cake sales, the tombola and plenty of people making donations at the concert we raised £474 of which £50 will be donated back to the church.”
