YEAR 3 and 4 children at Weare First Academy School have been getting to grips with some new programmable Lego.
The children created moving Lego toys by building them and then learning how to add add movement and sound to the models by linking them up to a laptop.
End products included a noisy, roaring crocodile, with a mouth that opens and closes and a fully functional model windmill.
All the teachers at Weare School received training from representatives of Lego earlier in the year, so they are were able to teach their students about the electronics and programming.
Teacher Mrs Goodacre said she felt very positive about this new addition to the school curriculum.
“The children are fascinated by the potential of this resource and their IT skills are improving, as a result.”
