WEST Huntspill School has raised more than £400 for national children’s charity NSPCC.

After two successful fundraising events pupils and staff donated £441 to the charity and an NSPCC ambassador visited the children at school to thank them for their hardwork.

Nicky Broomsgrove, teaching assistant, said: “We had a visit from Sophie, an NSPCC ambassador, to accept from us money which was donated from family and friends of our children during our school Christmas performance.

“While Sophie was here to accept the cheque, she also spent time raising awareness of all the good work that they do and set the children a challenge of a sponsored spelling and sponsored colouring.

“The children rose to the challenge and we were very proud to pass over a total of £341, making the grand total of £441 for this fantastic charity.

“Our thanks to all who sponsored our children and well done children.”
