THINGS will go a little darker in Somerset for a while this morning, Friday, March 20, as the most impressive solar eclipse for 16 years comes to town.
It will begin at 8.22am, reach its maximum at 9.28am and end at 10.37.
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the earth and the sun, totally or partly obscuring the sun for a viewer on earth.
