SANDY SCOTLAND DEFLATED High coach Ian Rankin was left to rue two yellow cards in quick succession as their quest to beat the drop was dealt a major body-blow by a resurgent Accies.

The Taysiders had led 6-3 midway through the first half thanks to opportunist drop-goals by Barry Jones and Mike Kerr. But the tide turned when Scott McKee and Ross Lemon were sent to the sin-bin.

With the extra man, Accies created tries for Luke McCann and Ruaridh Bonner either side of the interval. And with their tails up, they surged to the precious bonus point with further scores from Greg Campbell and Chris Dickie.

Rankin lamented: "This was without doubt our poorest display of the campaign. We were well beaten and deserved to be. In previous defeats we have put up solid resistance and have suffered from the odd decision going against us."

Accies supremo Ian Barnes said: "After throwing it away last week against GHA, we had to win this time round, and when the match got under way, I never thought we would lose.

In addition to his early penalty, Greg Laidlaw landed a string of kicks to underline Accies' overall superiority.
