TWO restaurants in Burnham have successfully improved their food hygiene ratings following a coaching visit from Environmental Health Officers.

Both The Shah Indian Cuisine, in Victoria Street, Burnham and the Zalshah Tandoori Restaurant, in College Street previously rated two in the scheme.

They were both due their routine food hygiene inspections at the start of the year, but were delayed until March 2015 as both were receiving an additional coaching visit following funding from the Food Standards Agency.

As a result of the coaching visit, the premises were rated as five and four respectively on their re-inspection.

In order to find out further information on coaching from EHO officers call Sedgemoor District Council on 0845 408 2540 or 01278 435435.
