THERE was plenty of St George’s Day fun in Burnham on Thursday with preschool children hunting for baby dragons around the town.

Twenty dragons were hidden in shop windows in Burnham town centre and the children had to find them — ably assisted by their hero for the day, Mike the Knight.

Once the dragons had been found the children then went along to the Princess Theatre for a St George’s Day party where they were able to enjoy dragon making, craft activities and storytelling with the help of Ade and Action Pussycat.

Town centre manager Beverley Milner Simonds said: “I think the town council can be very proud of a varied day of celebrations that included 20 businesses, local nurseries, parents and carers.

"It was a lovely sight seeing the groups exploring around the town centre and squealing with excitement at Mike the Knight!

“The party at the Princess exceeded my expectations with over 40 children enjoying storytelling, crafting, dancing and filling the hall with real joy.”
