The rescue tender from Taunton had to be called out to free a casualty trapped in a car in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters were sent to Doniford Road, Williton just before 1am after a call to say that a car had hit a lampost.
Two appliances from Williton were mobilised along with the Rescue Tender from Taunton.
A fire and rescue spokesman said: "On arrival crews confirmed one casualty medically trapped still in the vehicle.
"This was a single vehicle RTC involving one car which had hit a lampost.
"Crews got to work stabilising the vehicle and released the casualty using hydraulic cutting equipment.
"Western Power were also requested to attend to make safe the damaged lampost."
