A BURNHAM beauty has reached the finals of the Miss England competition after previously securing the title of Miss Somerset.

Emily Sanders, 22 will be competing at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry next month as one of the 50 finalists hoping to take home a victory.

She will now have to compete in various stages including a talent round and a charity round. Over 20,000 applied for the Miss England title and Emily is counting on the support of the people of Somerset to help take her all the way to a win.

Emily said: “I am so excited about participating in such a prestigious competition, and I am thrilled to be representing Somerset. I’m also looking forward to showing people what the competition is really about and I can’t wait to use my title in a positive way in the community.

“I am already the Vice Chair of In Charley’s Memory and an ambassador for Sensational Kids Somerset, so I can’t wait to see what else I can get involved in.

Emily currently teaches year three children at Churchfield Primary School and sees her class as an inspiration. “Recently, I filmed my talent video at Churchfield Primary School with year three - Oak Class - or as they all now like to correct me they are moving up to Year 4,” Emily said.

“They are lovely children and they are so inspirational to me. The school has been an amazing support. I would like to thank everyone in Burnham as they have been so supportive. It has been overwhelming.”

Emily is sponsored by Prime Photography, with support from salons FresHair and Hair Craft.
