A BURNHAM beauty impressed judges at the Miss England final.

Emily Sanders, 22, who holds the Miss Somerset 2015 title, ranked in the top 20 places of the nationwide competition, which received 22,000 applicants.

She also bagged second place in the charity round, raising over £7,000.

Emily, a history teacher, is a trustee of In Charley’s Memory, which supports young adults dealing with mental health illnesses, and is an ambassador for Sensational Kids Somerset, a support group for children with additional needs.

The Miss England National Finals were held at Ricoh Arena in Coventry last Thursday and Friday where Emily showed off her Eco wear, modelling and fundraising talents. Emily said: “I really enjoyed the experience and I surpassed all my own expectations of myself, but the most important aspect of the Miss England competition has always been charity.

“A driving force behind my position in Miss England was to advance the causes that I care about on a national stage.

“I wish I had the opportunity to do more of this, but now the finals are over I can give these causes even more of my attention. Once again I would just like to thank my local community for really getting behind me, I could not be prouder to represent Burnham and the surrounding areas.”
