A STUDENT from a hairdressing academy in Highbridge is celebrating her success in a national hairdressing for learners competition.

Sazia Salim has been training with L&F Academy in Highbridge for 12 months and managed to bag an award for one of the best entries at this year’s VTCT steam punk competition.

The competition is aimed at trainee hairdressers, giving them chance to display their talents and was judged by industry experts Mark Izzard, Jennifer Lenard and Lynda Whitehorn.

Sazia, who works at a salon in Weston-Super-Mare and is an NVQ level two student, is over the moon about the result.

Fran Deeley from L&F Inspired Hair Academy said: “I’m absolutely ecstatic.

“It is such an amazing success for a small Highbridge business and it is great for Sazia to be recognised in a national competition.
