VISITORS to the beach at Brean do not normally welcome windy weather, however, the conditions were greeted with glee by visitors to the first National Trust-backed kite festival.
The event featured a vast array of kites in various shapes and sizes, which were flown by all ages and abilities, from expert fliers to kite novices.
Families enjoyed taking it in turns to fly kites, with some of the larger ones needing a bit of help in lifting due to the off-shore breeze.
A steady flow of visitors attended throughout the day, with enthusiasts on hand to give advice and help out where needed.
Organisers from the National Trust said they were pleased with the turnout and hope that the event will return again next year.
