M5 at standstill between Bridgwater and Burnham as air ambulance lands on road after crash
Traffic was stopped on the M5 in Sonerset this morning to allow an air ambulance to land on the road aft a serious crash.
The M5 was closed in both directions between Junction 22 and 23 following a serious accident. Emergency services were called to the scene.
All traffic along the main carriageway was held for approximately 40 minutes, to allow the air ambulance to land on the opposite side of the carriageway.
The traffic was allowed to continue at 11.40am There is still very slow traffic on the M5 Northbound between J23 A39 (Bridgwater North) and J22 A38 / B3140 (Burnham-On-Sea).
