FOR most of us, Sunday mornings consist of lounging around watching cookery shows on the TV, but for Somerset's hardiest, it is a completely different story.
More than 150 dedicated runners turned out for the annual Brent Knoll Run on Sunday November 29 at 11:30am, despite the strong winds, thick mud and unwelcome downpour of rain.
The route takes runners to the top of Brent Knoll and back, in a difficult cross country event.
First over the finish line was Kieran Young of Wells City Harriers in 39 minutes and two seconds, with second place going to Richard Bateson of Yeovil.
The first local runner home was Burnham Harrier's Matt Powell, in 49:44 minutes.
Organiser, Brian Beale, said that the event was a success, with 153 entries and 141 finishers.
His daughter said: "It was a great morning with 141 people finishing."
