The town councillors may have tossed away the chance for a pancake race this year, but coming up is St Valentine's Day. So we have been asking residents where the most romantic place is in the area. Some have so far suggest Brean Down where the wild ponies roam on the headland with its views across the sea, others have gone for the railway station - that staple of romantic films. Also suggested are sitting on the seawall steps watching the sunset on a summer's evening with the waves lapping at the base on Burnham seafront, or picnicking in the dunes beyond the lighthouse and sharing a bottle of Rose wine.
