A TEN-YEAR-OLD girl from Somerset was indecently assaulted by a man who put his hand up her t-shirt.

The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Sunday, April 17 in Weston-super-Mare.

The girl was walking alone along the Somerset Avenue cycle path near Flowerdown Bridge - between Worle Moor Road and Pennycress.

She had seen the man in the same place a few minutes before, on her way to visit local shops, and he approached her as she walked back.

He tried to show her something on his phone and grabbed her top, putting his hand up her T-shirt.

She pushed him away and the incident was reported to police when she arrived home.

Thankfully the child was not hurt.

She has described the man as white, aged 20 to 30, about 5ft 9ins tall, with short dark brown hair and a nose she said was "squashed to one side".

Police have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the area and are checking on CCTV, while neighbourhood officers are patrolling the area.
