THE Friends of Marine Cove group is issuing an appeal for new volunteers to become involved in the award-winning Burnham-on-Sea gardens.
To allow new volunteers to find out more about the gardens and volunteering opportunities an informal meeting will be held on Monday, July 11 from 7:30pm in the office at Apex Park (next to the main toilet block in the Marine Drive car park).
Marine Cove has a resident-led ‘Friends of’ group which meets on a regular basis. The group work closely with Sedgemoor District Council staff to plan events, develop ideas for new activities and improve and promote use of the gardens.
More hands-on volunteering opportunities are also available in the gardens next to St Andrew’s Church on Burnham’s Esplanade.
Volunteers can help to maintain the floral and planting displays, assist at garden events and help with activities such as health walks that take place from the gardens.
There is no requirement of set days or times and no minimum amount of time volunteers are asked to commit. For information on the Friends of Marine Cove please visit http://marinecove.org.uk/.
