THE South West accountancy firm, Albert Goodman, has recently announced the appointment of a new partner, Chris Walford, to its Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea offices.

The company is currently expanding in North Somerset, and bringing in Mr Walford as a new partner is in line with their growth strategy in the area, building on the opening of larger offices in Weston-Super-Mare and a recent merger with North Somerset accountancy practice, T P Lewis & Partners.

Previously a director at Bishop Fleming, Chris specialises in advising clients of all sizes, including owner managed and family businesses, and he believes he can ‘enhance the company’s services provided in the North Somerset business community’.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I am delighted to join Albert Goodman, a well-established and highly regarded firm in the South West.

“Having worked predominantly with owner-managed businesses within the South West region for the past 15 years, I believe the wealth of technical and general business knowledge I have developed will both complement and enhance the services provided by Albert Goodman and Albert Goodman Lewis in the North Somerset business community.”

Based in the Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea offices, Chris joins the team on 18 July 2016.

Terry Lewis, director of Albert Goodman Lewis, said: “These are, I believe, exciting times for the North Somerset business community and with the breadth of experience Chris brings to our existing teams, I look forward to facing the challenges ahead and further cementing our reputation as one of the South West region’s leading professional practices.”

The company currently has offices across the region, including Taunton, Chard, Yeovil, Burnham-on-Sea, Bridgwater, Weston-super-Mare, Weymouth and Wedmore.

Richard Bugler, managing partner, said: “Since our successful merger with TP Lewis & Partners in May 2015, we have taken on larger offices in Weston-super-Mare as part of our expansion strategy in North Somerset.

“The appointment of Chris Walford is part of our commitment to invest in our local team to support businesses and their owners in North Somerset.”
