THE fat lady has sung on this Saturday's opera screening in Apex Park.
The organisers have released a statement: "In view of the very adverse weather forecast with high winds and rain we have regrettably taken the decision to postpone the open-air screening of Eugene Onegin in Apex Park this Saturday, August 20.
"Following the MET office weather warnings of gusts of up to 45 mph in Burnham-on-Sea from 7am to 9pm on Saturday and the nature of the outdoor event it would not be safe for us to go ahead with the event.
"The open-air screening of Garsington Opera’s Eugen Onegin will be rescheduled to an alternate date in the autumn.
"We’d like to give our apologies to everyone who was planning on coming to the event however we hope you understand the reasoning and will join us for the rescheduled date.
"We will be in touch with a new event date soon."
