A HOLIDAY resort in Brean won an award at the first ever Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards this October.
The ceremony, held at DoubleTree by Hilton at Cadbury House on October 19 saw holiday resort, Unity, fought off the competition to win the Holiday Park of the Year award.
The family business was also Highly Commended in the Sustainable Tourism award category
There were 20 different award categories and finalists went through a rigorous three-stage judging process, taking into account websites, reviews, social media, visits by industry mystery visitors and finally a judging panel to select the worthy winners.
Alan House, Director commented: “We are delighted and proud to be the first recipients of the Holiday Park of the Year award and that our holiday resort, and the work and dedication of the team here has been recognised by the tourism industry with this prestigious award.”
As a winner, Holiday Resort Unity will now be fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards, which take place in February 2017.
The resort are also finalists in two categories of the forthcoming Somerset Business Awards; Family Business of the Year and Environmental.
The awards take place in Taunton on October 21.
