A SOMERSET breast cancer awareness charity raised more than £1,000 after hosting a Christmas fair in Berrow.
The event, Shop for a Cure for Christmas, was held in aid of Somerset Breast Cancer Now in Berrow Village Hall on November 27 with crowds of people coming out to see the Christmas stalls.
There was huge support from store holders with a range of local businesses coming out to raise much needed funds for the cause.
This is just one of the many fundraising events put on by the charity this year including a collection at the recent Burnham and Highbridge carnival.
The charity raised a whopping £1,068.71 smashing last year's total by more than £250.
Organiser, Holly Clare Macbeth said that she was thrilled with the turnout.
"Thank you so much to all of our stall holders, face painters, henna artists and Krazy Kev for turning out to support our event.
"You have helped us smash our record for another year by raising £1068.71.
"That beats last years target by £250.
"We are overwhelmed again by your kind generosity and would like to thank the general public for coming out to support us."
