POLICE have released a recoding of a harrowing 999 call made by an 11-year-old boy after his mum was beaten up by a boyfriend.
The youngsters can be heard saying the man "has hurt my mum" following an argument.
He adds: "He's punched her. She's lying downstairs in the flat with blood all over her face."
The attacker was arrested and charged with assault.
He was given a suspended jail term by the courts.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "This is a real 999 call from an 11-year-old boy who saw his mum being beaten by her partner.
"Domestic abuse is happening. We all need to look, listen, ask and ask again..."
