HIGHBRIDGE'S Somerlap pulled out all the stops with their fantastic Christmas Craft Fayre last weekend, raising £600 for Taunton-based charity Stand Against Violence in Education.

The Christmas Craft Fayre had a wonderful artisan feel to it, almost doubling last years’ stallholders.

The stalls included Christmas Wreaths made from book folds; knitted Christmas gnomes and elves; pixel kits; wildlife photography; and delicious homemade cakes, as well as Hot Chocolate and an ice-cream bike. Somerlap’s showroom was used for the event and was brilliantly decked out with Christmas lights. A large Christmas tree was fantastically decorated to add to the festive feel.

The £600 that was raised derived from the sale of refreshments, stall hire, and all of the proceeds from the raffle along with an additional donation from Somerlap.

This will be donated to ‘Stand Against Violence’ – a charity set up in 2005 to reduce violence among young people. The charity runs workshops to educate young people on the harmful effects of violence.

Somerlap’s managing director Kevin Bond said: “This is the second year in which we have held the Christmas Craft Fayre.

"Lots of the stallholders have already said that they would like to come back next year and a lot of the visitors commented on the fantastic room and the memorable atmosphere.

"All in all, it was a great success – and possibly the start of another fantastic Somerlap tradition.”

The company produces bespoke sheds, robust fencing and creative garden enhancements and is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year and supplies customers throughout the South West.
