A HIGHBRIDGE student has been awarded a place at a prestigious university.
Rory Edwards, from King Alfred School (KAS) in Highbridge, has been offered a place at Oxford University after already achieving outstanding results in his A-levels this year.
Rory will study Physics at the university, and will go toe-to-toe with some of the world’s greatest minds.
A spokesman from King Alfred said: “We are proud to announce that KAS 2016 sixth form graduate Rory Edwards has gained a place at Oxford University.
“Rory will go up to St Edmund Hall to read Physics in the autumn.
“Rory achieved outstanding A-level results in the sixth form: A* in Maths and A grades in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
“Rory has also been employed by the school this term as a classroom assistant and he has voluntarily supported science sessions for younger students.
“Rory is due to leave for Bolivia in February for a few months where he will develop his Spanish while working on an environmental project.
“Rory was a fine role model for our sixth form students and we wish him all the best.”
