STUDENTS from King Alfred's School delved into the school's history this week on a visit to Somerset Heritage Centre.
The students visited the centre on March 6 and looked through a range of documents including council minutes from the 1950's, plans, maps and newspaper articles about the beginning of King Alfred School.
Esther Hoyle, senior archivist at Somerset Heritage Centre gave an informative talk to the pupils before showing them around the facility which included a visit to the strong room.
Students also had the opportunity to look at Find My Past and Ancestry to look for family members.
A spokesman for King Alfred's School said: "Students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to preparing for the school's 60th anniversary later this year.
"We would be pleased to hear from anyone who has any memories, pictures or anything they would like to share about their time at The King Alfred School. "
