A NEW lifeboat is set to be named in Burnham-on-Sea at an official ceremony.
The new D class lifeboat, Burnham Reach will be named at Burnham's Lifeboat station on April 8 at 3pm.
This will be the third naming ceremony to be held at the lifeboat station since it opened in 2004.
Burnham and Highbridge band will be performing at the event and a handing over ceremony with speeches and prayers will take place before the lifeboat is officially named by pouring cider over the bows.
Once the boat has been named both lifeboats will be transported to the launching area for a short trip on the sea before returning to the lifeboat station for light refreshments.
