POLICE are no nearer to finding a missing Somerset man who disappeared two years ago today (Tuesday, April 25).

Scott Cook, also known as Jay, was last seen at about 9.30pm on Saturday, April 25, 2015, leaving his home in Weston-super-Mare.

He is white, about 5ft 5ins tall and has a tattoo on his left arm which says ‘Jay Dot’.

At the time he went missing he was 25 and described as slim with a shaven head.

His friends said he sometimes has a goatee-type beard and usually wears dark navy joggers or jeans and a T-shirt.

As well as issuing appeals for information, distributing posters and carrying out searches in a number of locations around the town, police are grateful for the support of the charity Missing People, which has included arranging for Scott’s details to feature in The Big Issue magazine.

DCI Ray Hulin said: “It’s now two years since Scott was last seen and his family and friends are desperate to know he is OK.

“Despite a number of appeals we have had no confirmed sightings in the past two years and Scott hasn't made contact with anyone since going missing.

“We searched local woods for signs of a camp on a number of occasions after his friends suggested he had wanted to go 'off grid' for a while, but found no trace of him.

"I'd like to ask anyone who regularly visits the fields and woods around Weston to tell us about any signs of someone sleeping rough.

"Scott, if you see this appeal, please just make contact - with family, friends or Missing People if you don't want to talk to the police.

"It's been two years and everyone just wants to know that you're OK."

Scott was last seen near his home in Sunnyside Road, Weston.

While officers have no information to suggest he has left the area, he is also believed to be familiar with the Bisley, Bishops Cleeve and Tewkesbury areas of Gloucestershire.

Anyone with any information about Scott’s whereabouts can get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference MP1567/15 or through Missing People.
